Mary E. Hobbs

Mary E. Hobbs, 75, of Davenport, died Monday, May 20, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. before services. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mary Ellen was born January 15, 1944 in Metropolis, Illinois the daughter of Daniel P. and Opal (Anderson) Black.  She was united in marriage to Donald R. Hobbs, he preceded her in death.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, watching movies on TV, and spending time with her grandkids, she especially enjoyed reading her Bible which she did daily.

Mary is survived by her children and their spouses; Mark (Lisa) Miller, Symsonia, KY, Ricky (Tami) Miller, Davenport, Mary Allison, Davenport, Johnathan Jones, Tipton, IA, and Hollie (Shane) Huber, Milan, IL; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Daniel (Valerie) Black, Moline, IL.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Richard Jones, and 2 sisters Deanna Miller and Sharon Webster.  May they rest in peace.
