Mary Jo Scheck

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Jo Scheck, 66, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and formerly of Davenport, will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley, 1035 Kimberly Road, Suite 4, Davenport, Iowa 52806.

Ms. Scheck passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids.

Mary Jo was born February 26, 1957, in Davenport, a daughter of Edward J. and Mary E. (Kale) Scheck.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Iowa State University.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings and their spouses Patricia Rose of Milwaukee, Cathy (Bob) Marlin of Indianapolis, Sue (Gary) Slaby of Cedar Rapids, Nancy (Mike) Whitehurst of North Potomac, VA, Edward “Ted” (Pam) Scheck Jr of Speedway, IN, Thomas (Susan) Scheck of Ave Maria, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Amy Scheck.  May they rest in peace.
