Mary Christine “Kris” (Behan) Ruch, 67, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.  Visitation will follow from 2-4 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport.

Mary Christine Behan, known as 'Chris or Kris', was born September 30, 1952 in Davenport, a daughter of Henry 'Vern” and Myrtle “Leona” (Sellers) Behan.  She graduated from West High. Kris started opening day at the Yum Yum Barn and worked as a telephone operator after high school. She enjoyed working for the Department of the Army at the Rock Island Arsenal in the Nuclear Defense Division. She was a devoted mother and caretaker to her family, and later went back to school earning a degree as a Cisco Certified Network Administrator.

Kris had incredible faith; she deeply loved her family and cherished her friends. Christmas is her absolute favorite. She loved genealogy, trips with friends, and drives in the country. Kris was creative and smart, putting a little piece of herself in each of her projects. Always thinking of others, she had a gift of kindness and thoughtfulness towards all. Kris is a ray of sunshine, beloved by everyone she met.

Those left to honor Kris’ memory include her children:  Joel Ruch and Kara Ruch, both of Davenport; siblings, John Timothy Behan, Florida, Joseph Patrick (Mary) Behan, Grand Mound, Iowa and sister-in-law, Kathy Behan Ervin; nieces and nephews, Emily (Kenny) Park, Christopher Behan, Jessica (Dave) Wilson, Catherine (Laif) Swanson, Rebecca Behan, and Samuel Behan.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
