Mary Margaret Hancock was born on March 14, 1951 in Davenport, a daughter of Vincent J. and Loretta C. (Devitt) Hancock. She graduated from Columbus High School, Waterloo and remained close with many of her classmates, getting together regularly throughout the year.
Mary worked for twenty-eight years in the office of Dr. Larry Huber before going to work in the Scott County Treasurer’s office for eighteen years, retiring in 2017.
Mary had great love of her Irish heritage, her family and her friends. She was incredibly kind with a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to honor her memory are her brothers, Jim (Sharon) Hancock and Don (Susan) Hancock, all of Davenport, a sister-in-law, Jane Hancock, Waterloo, many loving nieces and nephews, and lots of extended family members who brought joy to Mary
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Vince and Loretta Hancock, and siblings and their spouses, Jan (Lorne) Mayer and Harold (Peggy) Hancock. May they rest in peace.
