Mary "Evy" Mensch

Mary “Evy” Mensch, 73, of Davenport, passed away, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Unity Point, Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.  Private burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Evy was born on April 22, 1950.  She was united in marriage to James Mensch on June 21, 1997.  He preceded her in death.

Evy was a hairdresser and ran Evy’s Hair Hut for many years.  She enjoyed her time spent at the VFW, Scotties and many other establishments over the years for a rootbeer schnapp and a cold beer and camping..  She found joy in working in her yard and took pride in her decorations.  Above all she loved her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. 

Those left to honor her memory include her children Michael (Ashely) Schmitt, and Mandi (Mikey) McClintock; grandchildren John (Shawna), Dustin (Kirstin), Kaleb, Kyle, Arianna, Logan, Jacob, Jazamyne, Collin, Brendan, Jalynn, Courtney, Chloe and Cory; great grandchildren Isaac, Izaiah, Camdyn, Hayden, Layton and Ilyjah; and siblings Ron (Patty) Lowe, Ken Lowe, Johnny (Bonnie) Wright and Jimmy Wright. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Keller, husband, son Marcus Adams and beloved best friend and camping buddy Barb.
