Mary Buckley

October 20, 1937 — October 25, 2021

Mary A. Buckley, 84, formerly a resident of Davenport, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on October 25, 2021, at River Crossing Nursing Home in Alton, Illinois. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mary Leenknecht was born on October 20, 1937, in Moline, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Bermel) Leenknecht. Mary graduated from Rock Island Alleman High School in 1955.  Mary was united in marriage to William B. Buckley on June 3, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline.

Survivors include a son, James (Kathleen) Buckley, Alton, Illinois; a daughter, Rhonda (Larry Sr.) Pruden, Davenport; brother, Alfred (Thomasa) Leenknecht, Custer, South Dakota; and grandchildren, Bridget Buckley, Will Leasman, Holly Lilly, and Larry Pruden Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her sister, Ruth Ann Hardy; her sister, Irene Williamson; and her brother, Arthur.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or CASI.
