Marvell Steverson

Marvell Steverson, 85, of Davenport, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Good Samaritan, Davenport. The rite of cremation will be accorded and memorial services held at a later date.

Marvell was born April 20, 1936 in Millington, TN, the son of Jeff and Maggie Steverson.  He met his future wife, Nettie Yancy, on a blind date and they were united in marriage on August 11, 1955.

Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a materials handler for International Harvester Farmall Works.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling and watching wrestling.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Nettie Steverson of Davenport; children and their spouses Michael “Tony” (Modena) Steverson of Johnson, IA, Ronald (Kim) Steverson Sr of Pearland, TX, Dennis (Doris) Steverson of Davenport, Teresa (Scott) Hampton of Davenport, Lupe Reyes of Davenport, Tina (Jeremy) Reyes-Woods of Davenport, and Sherry Hayes of Rock Island; grandchildren Aaliyah Jackson, Elijah Hayes, Kyle Reyes, Logan Reyes, Devon Reyes, Dillon Reyes, Latoya Pearson, Craig (Liberty) Steverson Sr, Michael Steverson Jr, Ron Steverson Jr, Courtney (Chris) Bach, Dillon Woods Jr, and Jaron Steverson; a host of great grandchildren; and sisters Shirley Tuggle, Delores Thornton and Barbara Sims.

His parents preceded him in death.
