Marlene Kay Jordahl, 79, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. Private family Mass with be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with burial in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Marlene was born on November 22, 1944 in White Lake, South Dakota, daughter of John and Agnes (Roth) Leibrich. She was united in marriage to Laren Jordahl on October 17, 1963. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2007.
Marlene attended elementary school in White Lake, South Dakota, Catholic School in Mitchell, South Dakota and High School in Akron, Iowa. She worked at Brammer Manufacturing, Davenport, until it closed. She then did finish wood working in new construction homes in the Quad City area. She was proud of her detailed work. Marlene enjoyed ceramics, attending sprint car races with her husband and friends, watching the Green Bay Packers, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and supporting Coe College women’s basketball. She was also a faithful catholic of Our Lady of Victory, always attending rosary and Saturday Mass. Her father died before she was born and her mother died when she was 14. Losing her parents at such a young age made her a very strong and independent woman. She passed those traits onto her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Bryan (Jenny) Jordahl, Donahue, Iowa, Brenda Jordahl-Buckles, Davenport, Iowa and Tanya (Scott) Stephens, Geneseo, Illinois; grandchildren Jaime (Corbin) DeLaCruz, Lindsey (Justin) Mitchell, Sydney (Kyle) Dittmer, Ben Jordahl, Brynn Jordahl and Carly Carman, Cameron and Zakery Stephens; great grandchildren Sienna, Leland and Leena DeLaCruz, Maya Mitchell and Eloise Dittmer; brothers Thomas (Donna) Leibrich, Andover, Minnesota and John Leibrich, Andover Minnesota; sister in law Janice (Steve) Roeder; many special nieces and nephews; and her rescue cat, Gunner.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes, husband Laren, brother Gerald, and sister in law Betty Leibrich.
