Markus Abbott

Funeral services celebrating the life of Markus A. Abbott, 27, of Davenport, will be 1:30pm Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Visitation will be from Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Luncheon is going to be at the LULAC following the service. Per his wish the rite of cremation will be accorded after services.

Markus A. Abbott passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Markus Anthony Abbott was born April 27, 1990 in Davenport, a son of Lisa Abbott and Ronnie Lopez.

He had worked as cook for various restaurants and most recently at Gunchies in Davenport.

Markus enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be skateboarding, snowboarding, playing hacky sack, basketball, or football with his brothers. He also enjoyed playing with his sisters and watching movies with his family. He loved music, video games and EATING! He was always ready to lend a hand when anyone was in need including his last days, Markus kept his unselfishness to the end by donating his organs.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother Lisa (Rodney) Bragg, Bettendorf; father Ronnie (Christina) Lopez, Davenport; brothers and sisters Dustin and Heidi, both of Davenport, Jessica, Port Byron, Justin, Adrian, and Myrakle, all of Bettendorf; grandparents Larry Abbott, Maria Ellis, and Maria Anderson; Aunts Andrea Corchado-Abbott, Rebecca Anderson, Michelle (Rick) Arguello; Cousins Makenna, Kiara, Rick Jr, Dante, Kaden, Jacob, Alayna, Emma, Madeline; great grandfather Salvador Lopez; girlfriend Jessica Barenthin, all of Davenport; and many loving extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Michael Anderson, great grandmother Joan Lopez and great grandmother Opal Kuehl.
