Marion Alice Anderson was born on July 20, 1929 in Jacksonville, Illinois, a daughter of A.B. and Lucille Anderson. Her family moved to Florida when she was 4. Marion met her future husband Robert C. “Bob” Kraxner in Florida where they shared a love of the ocean. When they moved to Davenport, they spent as much time as possible boating and camping along the Mississippi River. Bob and Marion were united in marriage in 1953. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2018 after 65 years of marriage.
Marion taught 1st grade and prefirst in the same southeast corner of Monroe Elementary School in Davenport for over 30 years retiring in the mid 1980’s.
Bob and Marion’s love of water led them to retire near Branson, Missouri where they built a home just moments from Table Rock Lake. They spent 15 years entertaining friends and family on their pontoon boat, taking in Country Music Shows and visiting Silver Dollar City.
Marion’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was an avid supporter of the many activities her grandchildren were involved in and was delighted to share time with her four great-grandchildren. She recently learned of a 5th great-grandchild on the way!
She will be remembered for her sense of humor and adventurous spirit. She will be missed.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; David (Mary) Kraxner, Blue Grass; grandchildren, Brock (Jacquie) Kraxner, Solon, Iowa Amanda (John) Wesson, Blue Grass; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Cody, Annie, Connor, and one on the way.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Rex Anderson, and her twin sister, Ruth Vaughn.
