Marilyn Taylor

On Sunday, January 7, 2024, after 90 years of a beautiful life on earth, Marilyn Taylor, of Bettendorf, was welcomed into her forever home in heaven. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by loved ones at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 19, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home with visitation being held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Iowa Masonic Home or to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. 

Marilyn was born on May 16, 1933 in Iowa City, daughter of Edith Esther (Russell) Hill.  She was united in marriage to Richard Taylor on May 16, 1980.  He preceded her in death on April 29, 2005.

Marilyn, affectionately known as Grandma Honey, enjoyed dancing, clogging, shopping, music and attending concerts.  She was a former member of QC Cloggers Club, Stock Market Club, and Calvery Chapel, LeClaire.  Marilyn worked for K&K for many years and was manager of sporting goods as well as the buyer for their toy department.  She was a very involved grandmother and loved her family.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings, Larry (Anna) Hill, Charles (Augusta) Hill, Charlotte (John) Ylinen, Ronald (Cindy) Hill and Gene (Cathy) Leonardi; grandchildren Amanda (Josh) Goeller and Matthew (Kerri) Nash; great grandchildren Charlie, Donna, Jacob, Josie, Levi, Micah, Brooklyn, Sydney, Anna, Addie, Nash and Eli; close nieces and nephews and longtime special friend, Steve Arguello, who was a dear companion and caretaker to Marilyn for many years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, children Irvin Livingston and Debra Nash, granddaughter Abigail Huntrods and siblings Luanna, Melvin and Mark.
