Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret A. “Peggy” Schlue, 89, of Davenport, will be 10am Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2618 Boies Ave, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-4pm Sunday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Mrs. Schlue passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home.
Margaret Audrey Howes was born June 25, 1928 in Clinton, a daughter of Clyde and Margaret (McAllister) Howes. She was united in marriage to Carl Otto Schlue on December 10, 1949 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2002.
Peggy was a homemaker and in earlier years, was very active in St. Alphonsus Parish. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed their gatherings and holidays. She welcomed everyone into her home.
Survivors include her eight favorite sons and their spouses, Carl “Skip” (Vickie) Schlue, Terry (Joni) Schlue, Kevin (Kathy) Schlue, Edward (Martha) Schlue, John (Helen) Schlue, all of Davenport, Patrick (Carrie) Schlue, Blue Grass, Richard (Kim) Schlue, and Robert Schlue, all of Davenport; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; sisters Mary (Tim) Harrington, Albuquerque, NM, Judy Libberton, Clinton, and Joyce (Dave) Lutz, Cordova, IL.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Margaret in 1964, grandson Andrew Carl, and brothers Chuck, Tom and Clyde. May they rest in peace.
