Margaret P. “Peg” Aldrich, 67, of Bettendorf, formerly of Davenport, died Monday, October 2, 2023 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Hospital, Bettendorf.
Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. There will be additional visitation at church Friday from 9 until 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Care and Share Program.
Margaret Patricia Harris was born on June 11, 1956 in Davenport, a daughter of Edgar and Doris (Vizard) Harris. She graduated from Holy Family Grade School and Assumption High School, class of ’74 where she was a gymnast and varsity cheerleader. She was united in marriage to Dr. Michael D. Aldrich in 1984 and from this union came her pride and joy, her sons, Ben and Jake.
Peggy worked at Iowa Machine Shed and ran an in-home daycare when her boys were younger. She later went back to school and became an x-ray technician with O.R.A. More recently, she worked at Hy-Vee (53rd and Utica Ridge).
Peg adored her boys and was eagerly awaiting her first grandchild’s arrival in April of 2024. She also enjoyed her adventures with her oldest sister, Carolyn.
Survivors include her sons: Ben (Claire) Aldrich, Davenport and Jake Aldrich, Lehi, Utah; siblings: Carolyn Kinnaird, Mary (Steve) Imming, all of Davenport, Edgar (Amy) Harris, Des Moines, Jane (Neal) Bredbeck, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, David “Pud” (Julie) Harris, Peoria, Illinois, Angela (Tom) Goodall, and Chrissy (John) Halligan, all of Davenport, and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Frances Edwards. May they rest in peace.
