Louetta Slattery

Louetta A. Slattery, 88, a resident of Davenport passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus. Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Louetta will be 10:30am Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church 4105 N. Division Street, Davenport. Her family will greet friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport, with a family led Rosary at 6:30. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be additional visitation Thursday at church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Our Lady of Victory Church.

Louetta Arlene Arp was born April 23, 1929 in New Liberty, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Leona (Dreyer) Arp. Louetta graduated from Davenport High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Leonard F. Slattery on September 4, 1948 at St. Alphonsus Church, Davenport. Leonard died February 14, 1994.

Louetta worked as a sales associate at Younkers, Von Maur and other retail stores. Louetta enjoyed attending her many grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports and music activities. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Those left to honor her memory include her children; Terence (Karen) Slattery, Maquoketa, IA, Ronald (Carolyn) Slattery, St. Louis, MO, Linda (Larry) Betts, San Antonio, TX, Kenneth Slattery, Tampa, Florida, Luann (Jerry) Seier, Laura (Ben) Hensler, all of Davenport, Lisa Slattery, Davenport, Florida, and Carol (Dan) Werthmann, Durant; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; 2 sisters, Thyra Missfeldt, Bettendorf and Gerry Meyer, Walcott; brother, Harry Arp, Jr., Eldridge; sister-in-law, Shirley Arp, Davenport, and special neighbor, Debbie Thurness, Davenport.

Louetta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Ralph, Erwin and Allan Arp, and sisters, Lorissa Grabbe and Darlene Eike.
