Lloyd Kerr

Lloyd P. Kerr died Oct 26, 2019 following unforeseen complications from surgery.  He was born April 1, 1946 to Lloyd A. and Pauline Kerr in Morning Sun Iowa.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Kerr and his four children. Nicole (Kerr) and Stuart Paris, Lloyd C. Kerr (Chris), Molly Kerr, Mandy Kerr, his three grandchildren; Tyler Paris, Nevaeh Kerr and Delayni Kerr and great granddaughter, Maelee Paris.

Lloyd was an accomplished pilot spending the majority of his career flying for multiple corporations throughout the Quad Cities and retiring from HON Industries in 2008. The past few years he worked for the City of Davenport Parks and Recreation department and thoroughly enjoyed operating one of the few air conditioned tractors.

Lloyd was a gifted musician and played bass and keyboard in a rock n roll band for 30+ years. His love and talent for music was passed to Nevaeh who is also a talented pianist.

Lloyd’s greatest joy in life were his two granddaughters. They were the light of his life and he enjoyed tractor rides, tea parties, movies, ball games, swimming lessons, concerts and teaching them about Jesus. He was the most important person in their lives and the foundation he provided them is based on faith, love, learning, compassion and strength.

Lloyd made an incredible impact on those who knew him. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many across all stages of his life. He cherished those friendships and especially loved traveling and making memories with friends.

Lloyd left us with a million memories and his kindness, generosity, intelligence and humor will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Visitation will be Friday Nov 1 from 4-7 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral home, 614 Main Street in Davenport Iowa; a special time of sharing will begin at 6:30.  Funeral services will be Saturday Nov 2 at 2:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport.  Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the education fund for his granddaughters.
