Lisa A. Henson

Lisa Ann Henson, 42, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, from injuries received in a car accident. A celebration of her life and a sharing of memories will be held at Noon on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with the rite of cremation to follow. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, and from 11 am until the time of services on Thursday. Memorials may be made to her mother, Diana Courtney, for a fund to be established for Lisa’s daughter, Penelope.

Lisa was born April 7, 1982, in Davenport, the daughter of Diana (Ripley) Courtney. She graduated from Bettendorf High School and FIDM, The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA 90015

She most recently worked for the US Postal Service and FedEx and was a flight attendant for AirTran in earlier years.

Lisa loved nature and found peace near water, whether it was fishing or just sitting by the river watching it flow by. She was spiritual, creative, inspirational, and a social butterfly. She also liked sitting around a bonfire with her family and friends and listening to music. 

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Penelope Westerfield; parents Diana (Jerry) Courtney of Bettendorf; sister Amy Henson of Davenport; niece Justice Henson; nephew Allen Douglas; great-nieces and nephews Amrielle, James, Jalalah, and one-on the way; and her dog Maxx.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Lois and Henry Ripley, as well as her dogs Jazz and Tiggity.
