Linda Mary Mulligan, 74, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Linda was born on June 18, 1950, in Davenport to Jack and Katie (Daveronas) Mulligan. For 48 years, she shared and cherished a lifelong partnership with Mitch Luethye.
Linda’s professional journey included roles as an administrative assistant, an emergency dispatcher for the City of Davenport, and later a dedicated career at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she eventually retired.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda found wonderful joy in everything she loved. She delighted in spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s events. An avid sports fan, she was passionate about cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Cubs. Her warm, enthusiastic personality shone through in her love of life and her appreciation for the little things, often expressed with the words “wonderful” and “awesome.”
Linda’s kindness and love touched all who knew her. She was a friend to everyone she met and leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Mitch; her daughter, Mandy (Steve) Brown and their children: Josh, Sarah (Leo), Jacob (Taegan), and Peter; her stepdaughter, Amy Archer and her children: Brandon, Austin, and Brent; siblings Kathy (Al) Winslow, Tom (Adele) Mulligan, Anne Mulligan, and Mimi (Billy) LaMar; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Katie Mulligan, and her siblings Jacquie (Butch) Wellendorf, Mike Mulligan, and P.J. Mulligan.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Scott County Humane Society in her honor.
