Funeral services celebrating the life of Leroy “Pops” Carr, 63, of Davenport, will be 11am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Progressive Baptist Church, 1302 E. 12 St, Davenport. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Saturday from 10am until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mr. Carr passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the home of his sister, surrounded by family and friends.
Leroy was born November 15, 1954 in Louise, MS, a son of Leroy Bass and Wardean Carr.
He had worked for French & Hecht and IBP.
Leroy loved fishing, cooking and watching Westerns.
Survivors include his daughters Constance Carr, Denisha Ford, Jalissa March, all of Davenport; sons Demetrius (Enetta) Carr, Demario Butler, Lance Carr, all of Davenport, Michael (Kelly) Bird, Charlotte, IA; 21 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; mother Wardean Allen, Davenport; sisters Lorian (Wade) Harrington, Ann (Jack) Merritt, Rochelle (Jesse) Estes, Jr, all of Davenport, Constance (Allen) Shuller, Moline; brothers Clim Allen III, Lardell Allen, both of Davenport, Calvin “Pico” (Janis) Allen, Marietta, GA; and special friend Bessie Burge-Tucker, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by a son Terrance Carr, granddaughter E’Maria Robinson-Butler, father Leroy Bass, step father Clim Allen, Jr, sister Antoinette Allen, and brother Henry Carr.
