Laura Stanlake

Funeral Services for Laura E. “Lucy” Stanlake, 87, a resident of Davenport, will be 11:30am Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, Iowa. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the D.A.V. Lucy passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at ManorCare Utica Ridge, surrounded by her family.

Laura Eunice Coggins was born June 17, 1934, in Wynne, Arkansas, a daughter of John E. and Pauline (Sharp) Coggins. Lucy retired as a school bus driver for DCS. She also sold Tupperware and Avon products for many years. She married Lloyd E. Stanlake in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Lucy was a member of New Life Baptist Church and the FOE Eagles Club. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, Euchre, Queen, Phase 10, and spending time with her family.

Those left to honor Lucy’s memory include her children:  Tom Bullock; Jim (Lynne) Bullock; Tina (John) Dau, all of Davenport; and Darcey (Vince) Galindo, Little Elm, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother Willie Coggins, Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd; son Mike Bullock, and nine siblings:  Charline Cook, Roy Coggins, Marvin Coggins, Alvin Coggins, Agnes Kernodle, Kathleen Dorris, Doris Hughes and 2 infant twins.
