Laura Belle "Tiny" Smith - Coblentz

Funeral services celebrating the life of Laura “Tiny” Smith - Coblentz, 88, of Davenport, will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.  The family will receive friends from 9am until time of service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Ms. Coblentz passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Promedica, Davenport.

Laura Belle Smith was born September 21, 1934, in Davenport, a daughter of Allen and Ida May (Skeels) Smith Sr.  She was united in marriage to Amos Coblentz, and she was a homemaker.

Laura enjoyed doing ceramics, playing cards, Bingo, the outdoors, and most especially spending time with her large family.

Those left to honor her memory include her children and their spouses Donald (Hazel) Smith of Princeton, IA, Cindy (Robert) Appleby Sr of Davenport, Robert “Bobby” (Pat) Coblentz of Oklahoma, Mark (Sheila) Coblentz of Davenport; and a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by sons John (1969) and Tracy (2009), grandson Michael Appleby (2022), parents, sisters Evelyn Hartley, Alberta Weatherly, Juanita “Sadie” Wheeler, Lavina “Sam” Hendricksen, and brothers Lester, George, Jim, and Junior.
