Larry Mock, 67, of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his home. Per his request the rite of cremation was accorded, and a private family service was held. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family. Memorials may be made to the family.
Lawrence Paul Mock was born September 25, 1957, in Davenport, the son of Donald and Margaret “Jeanne” (Vance) Mock. He graduated from Davenport West, class of 1976, and was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Deborah “Deb” Twohey, on November 24, 1976.
Prior to his retirement, Larry had been a diesel mechanic for Cummins Great Plains in Rock Island.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and loved watching Westerns. He was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings (SKOL!) and a proud supporter of Busch Light. His family fondly remembers his struggles getting his passport so they could go to the Dominican Republic. He was bound and determined that he was going back.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Deb; daughters Michelle (Troy) Dejoode of Nevada, IA, Melissa (Kelly) Anderson of Boone, IA, Megan (Brady) Czupka of Davenport; grandchildren Bretton, Dylan, Ashlynn, Alex, Michaella, Nicholas, Bella, Ellie and Tate; mother Jeanne Mock of Davenport; siblings and their spouses: Terri (Austin) Trasolini, Jerry (Kathy) Mock, Garry (Kathy) Mock, Sherri (David) Wellmeier, and Kerri (Tim) Turnmire.
He was preceded in death by his father Don and son-in-law Scott Sporrer.
