Larry Lucier

Larry Lucier, 80, of Davenport, died Friday, February 11, 2022.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Larry was born February 18, 1941 the son of Edmund and Verna Lucier. Larry resided with his parents in Bettendorf until 2005 until his mother passed away.  He remained in the home with two other male residents under the care of the Handicapped Development Center until 2019.  Larry spent the last 2+ years of his life at ManorCare Health Services.  Larry never lived at the HDC but was employed at the facility for many years before he turned 65.

Larry attended Assumption High School as a youth and was involved in Special Olympics Swimming.  He competed at numerous local events throughout his life.

Larry enjoyed playing cards, going on airplane flights with his friend, Robert Pint, and watching fireworks on the 4 ^th of July.

He is survived by an aunt, Dulce Peek; and many friends and caregivers.

The family would like to thank HDC and ManorCare for their support, love and care which made Larry’s life as fulfilling and dignified as possible, in spite of the challenges that each day brought throughout his adult life.  We are especially grateful to Heartland Hospice for keeping Larry as comfortable as possible in his final days on Earth.
