Krystal Robertson

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Krystal Lee Shari Robertson, 11, of Davenport, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main Street, downtown Davenport. Burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Krystal passed away peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House following a lifelong battle with Marfan syndrome.

Krystal was born on February 1, 2007 in Davenport, a daughter of Sarah Peters and William Shane Robertson. She was homeschooled by Linda Lahann whom Krystal adored as well as Linda’s husband, Barry.

Krystal was strong willed and unfiltered; you knew she was the boss! She was brave and had a true fighter’s spirit, not letting her condition keep her from living the life she wanted to lead. Krystal loved to meet new people and to make everyone around her smile. You couldn’t help but have a giant grin on your face because that’s the look Krystal always shared. She wasn’t a girly-girl, enjoying video games like Call of Duty and football. She loved Hawkeye football, enjoying all the visits from the Hawks while she was at the University of Iowa and was selected as one of their Kid Captains during the 2013 season. She loved to dance and listen to music, knowing every lyric to Alicia Keys songs.

Krystal is survived by her mother, Sarah Peters, father, Shane Robertson, siblings: Beau, Blake, Isaiah, William, and Shyann; grandparents, Deb and Clifton Peters, and Linda Robertson, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Ed Carter.

Krystal’s family would like to thank all of the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Genesis Hospice, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for all the loving, compassionate care they shared.
