Kimberly died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, following a brief illness and complications of metastatic cardiac angiosarcoma.
Kimberly Ann Scodeller was born July 15, 1966 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a daughter of, Kenneth J. and Shirley Ann (Forbes) Scodeller. She graduated from Davenport Central High School class of 1984; she then attended and graduated from the University of Iowa, and received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and earned her MBA.
Kimberly began her employment career by serving nine-years in engineering and marketing positions with a government contracting company. She later accepted a position as a Supply Management Specialist with John Deere Davenport Works. Her career at John Deere included numerous positions of increasing responsibility in the Supply Management organization. She supported the company in Global leadership roles; her most recent position was the Director of Supply Management for John Deere Power Systems. “She was a dear friend, trusted colleague and respected leader in the organization.”
She was as driven in her professional life as she was in her personal life; Kimberly enjoyed golfing, fine wine, and attending the activities of her nieces. She cherished time spent with family and friends. She especially cherished the friendships she made at Crow Valley Golf Club and Short Hills Country Club. She was honored to be selected to be the first woman board member of Short Hills; only to be transferred with Deere and Company shortly thereafter.
Memorials are suggested to be made in her name to The Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley or to the Mayo Clinic to support research.
Those left to honor her memory include her parents, Kenneth and Shirley Scodeller; Davenport, her fiancé, Tom Dalton, Cedar Falls, Iowa; a brother, Bryon (Susan) Scodeller, Moline; sister, Angie (Wade) King, Davenport; sister in law, Amy Scodeller, Davenport; nieces, Kennedy, Mallory, Carly, Samantha, Lily, Erika, Crystal, and Ashley; and her beloved canine companion, her Bernese Mountain Dog, Lucy.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dominic Giovanni Scodeller, June 20, 2015. May they rest in peace.
