Kevin Roy Traum, 63, Moline IL, passed away August 2, 2022 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer at the University of Iowa Hospital. He was the second born of three boys on November 19,1958 at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, IA to Henry Wayne Traum and Dorothy Janelle Traum.
Kevin grew up in Davenport, IA and graduated from West High School. He is survived by his fiancé Tammy Gutting Schaeckenbach, Moline, IL, brothers Henry (Cheryl), Bettendorf, IA and Randall, Davenport, IA, aunts Becky and Patty, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Walter.
Kevin enjoyed working on cars, which started in a family business at Associated Auto Parts. His passions were attending and watching NASCAR, his favorite driver was Kevin Harvick. He enjoyed traveling to Florida to relax on the beach and go on charter fishing excursions. He was a skilled carpenter and could build just about anything. He enjoyed helping people and teaching his skills to the younger generation. Up until a month ago, he worked as a truck driver through chemotherapy and radiation treatments for JB Hunt and Home Depot. He fought a hard brave battle until the end.
Burial services will be held August 10, 2022 at Holy Family Cemetery, 600 Waverly Road, Davenport, IA, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Circle Tap from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pancreatic Action Network at pancan.org/donate. The family would like to thank the staff of wonderful doctors and nurses at Genesis East and the University of Iowa hospitals.
