Kenton M. “Kent” Stolley, 61, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, May 11, 2024. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. in the gathering space at church. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date in Kent’s honor.
Kenton Mack Stolley was born on July 8, 1962 in Davenport, a son of Barbara Jane (Panther) and Gary Mack Stolley. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1981 and later earned his degree in history from Northeast Missouri State in 1990. Kent served our country in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army from 1985 until 1988. He married Patty Parmeter on September 4, 1993 at St. John Vianney, Bettendorf. From this union, they had three children, Mack, Sam, and Claire.
Kent spent his career in customer service in the Iowa City and Quad City areas.
Kent loved sports and cheering for his Hawkeyes, Cubs, and Bears. Many fond memories were made at his Grandparent’s place at Grindstone Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin and he enjoyed building “Kent’s Camp” on his parent’s acreage in Coal Valley. He was a friend of Bill W.
Those left to honor his memory are his children: Mack (Maura Smith) Stolley, Samuel Stolley, all of Iowa City, Mary Claire Stolley, Ankeny; father, Gary Stolley, Moline, and sister, Ann (Eric) Schiefelbein, Johnston, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jane Stolley, and grandparents, Mildred and Ervin Panther, Otto and Lula Stolley. May they rest in peace.
