Memorial services celebrating the life of Kenneth J. “Ken” Magana, 69, of Davenport, will be 1pm Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main St, Davenport. The family will receive friends from Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing are required. The memorial service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at www.hmdfuneralhome.com.
Mr. Magana passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at his home after a brief illness.
Kenneth John Magana was born November 15, 1951 in Sterling, IL, a son of Henry E. “Hank” and Maria H. (Terronez) Magana. He was united in marriage to Margarita “Margie” Portillo on May 16, 1980 in Florida. She survives him.
Prior to his retirement, Ken had been a forklift operator for the former Jacobsen Warehouse.
In his spare time, Ken enjoyed playing blues guitar, researching UFO incidents, spending time with his beloved family, and doing things for those he loved. Ken and Margie always had an open door to those in need.
In addition to Margie, his wife of over forty years, those left to honor his memory include his son James (Allison) Magana, Holland, MI; daughters Melissa Magana, Davenport, Angelica Portillo, Bettendorf, Ann Marie Magana, Bettendorf; grandchildren Mario Bassett, Maria Bassett, Alycia Bendix, Ava Owens, Edea Magana, Isaiah Bendix, Mariah Zemo, Ashalia Magana, Cruz Martinez; great granddaughter Nalani Kuhrt; sisters Patricia Rascon, Sterling, Victoria Magana, Sterling, Camilla Magana, Wisconsin; brothers Steven (Nancy) Magana, Sterling, Andrew Magana, Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Eric, and grandson Devante Portillo.
