Keira Fields, 40, of Davenport, passed away, Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour to the service beginning at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Keira was born on April 10, 1982 in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Norman and Teresa (Morales) Waters. She was united in marriage to Nathan Fields on June 20, 2020.
Keira was on dialysis for five years before her kidney transplant 11 years ago. She developed cancer due to her anit-rejection medication 3 years ago. This past August she had a stem cell transplant. She was a fighter and a strong women through all of her treatments.
Keira was a graduate of Central High School. She knew karate and had played softball in her younger years. She loved children and was very good with the little ones. She worked at JC Penny for 10 years and then became an assistant manager in the gift shop at Rhythm City. She was very good at organizing and planning parties. She enjoyed her many trips to Florida visiting Disney and swimming in the ocean. She was very fond on going to amusement parks such as Adventureland, Six Flags, Wisconsin Dells and the parks in Florida. She also enjoyed holidays, handbags, and jewelry. She was a great cook and was always in the kitchen. She was lucky to have great friends and had been able to enjoy a girls trip to Mexico. She cherished her two cats and her family pet Spike. Keira also enjoyed watching her favorite shows, The Golden Girls, American Pickers, Everybody Loves Raymond and Law and Order. Above all she was all about making memories with her family. She loved being with her children and experiencing new places. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Nathan; children Sofeya Mewes, Anya Waters, and Freya Fields; parents Norman and Teresa; siblings Norman, Jr. and Branden Waters; nieces; Taeden, Taeari, and Brissa; uncle Gary (Stephanie) Waters; aunts Yolonda Waters and Angie Garrow; and special friends Tila Bevil, Larae Payne, and Stefanie Fancsali.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Irma and Jack Waters, Joyce Bennett, and John Morales; uncle Terry Waters; and great grandmas Hazel Kunce and Katie McGowan.
