Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine M. “Kay” Iannuzzelli, 89, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. The Mass will be livestreamed by visiting Our Lady of Victory Livestream The burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport with a time of sharing and the rosary prayed at 5 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. Monday in the gathering space at church.
Kay died peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Senior Star, Davenport.
Catherine Mary Barbalaci was born on January 2, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey, a daughter of Michael and Anna (Fiella) Barbalaci. She graduated from St. James High School, Newark, New Jersey and attended secretarial school. Kay was united in marriage to Louis M. Iannuzzelli on February 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2009, following 53 years of marriage.
Kay’s life centered around her faith and her family. She took great pride in raising her six children and caring for grandchildren as they grew up. She found pleasure in cooking for family and friends, loved her crafts, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Kay was a member of Our Lady of Victory and their choir, Legion of Mary, and the Italian American Society. She held many different positions in these organizations and enjoyed them all.
Survivors include her children, Annemarie Hovey, Cathy (Phillip) Andresen, all of Davenport, Maryann (Mike) Litz, Omaha, Nebraska, Louis (Lisa) Iannuzzelli, Jr., Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Michael (Lori) Iannuzzelli, Elk River, Minnesota, and Gerard (Jennifer) Iannuzzelli, Palatine, Illinois; grandchildren, Phillip Hovey, Jr., Brianna (Justin) Ryder, John (Amanda) Andresen, Michael Andresen, Beau Litz, Linda and Louis Iannuzzelli, Jr., Anna and Ashley Iannuzzelli, and Jordyn, Abigail, and Anthony Iannuzzelli, Megan (Peter) Hoxmeier, and Andrew (Briana) Litz, and great-grandchildren: Alivia, Beckham, Caiden, and Aria; a sister-in-law, Angie DeLousi, New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Marian Vachino and Peter “Joseph” Barbalaci, and her faithful dog, Bella. May they rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. The Iannuzzelli family would like to thank the staff of Senior Star and UnityPoint Hospice for the compassionate care given to Kay.
