Kathy Dianne (Hay) Breece

    Kathy Dianne (Hay) Breece (63), of Davenport, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 13, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. According to her wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

   Kathy was born on January 28th, 1959 in Rock Island, IL, to Patsy Hendrickson Snyder and Blane Hay. On December 11, 1996, she was united in marriage to her soulmate, Mike Breece.

Kathy had a heart of gold and went out of her way to help anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, her furbabies and her family, maintaining significant and influential relationships with all of her nieces and nephews. When Kathy wasn’t spending time enriching the lives of those around her, you may have found her singing lead in multiple bands throughout the QC. Kathy was known for her talent, her voice, and her ability to entertain!

Many family members still refer to Karaoke night as “Kathy-oke”, refusing to step to the microphone after her. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.

   Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved and devoted husband, Mike, of 27 years, Furbabies; Rocko & Benny, Stepdaughter; Stefanie Bagley, Atlanta, GA; sisters; Kelly Merritt (David) Davenport; Cindi Hester (Micah), Augusta, IL; brothers; Greg Hay (Brenda), Milan, IL; Jeff Hay (Jeri) Pompano Beach, FL; god-son Michael Thorson of Davenport, and many nieces and nephews. Kathy had an especially close bond with great niece and nephew, Malaniah & Rylan Thompson.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Snyder; father, Blane Hay; stepfather, Lyle Snyder; sister, Vicki Seitz; furbaby, Izzy, and maternal grandparents.
