Kathleen Douglas

Funeral services celebrating the life of Kathleen R. “Kathy” Douglas, 79, of Bettendorf, will be 11am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main St, Davenport.  Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be from 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center.

Mrs. Douglas passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Kathleen Reynolds was born June 20, 1942, in Davenport, a daughter of Leo and Margaret (nee Hughes) Reynolds.  She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy and then Assumption High School, Class of 1960.  She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Douglas in 1968 in Davenport.

Kathy worked for Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator.  She and her husband owned Douglas Industries, Inc. in Eldridge Iowa.

Kathy enjoyed life, especially taking her grandchildren to Lagomarcino’s and golfing with friends.  She was proud of her Irish heritage and made several trips to Ireland over the years with family and friends.  She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Society and served as vice-president for twenty years.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jerry; son John (Tonya) Douglas; grandchildren Erin and Matthew Douglas, all of Bettendorf; brother Mick (Karen) Reynolds, Moline.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Mary (Jack) Smith and Nadine (Ed) Vieger.
