Julia A. “Judy” Rolewski, 74, a resident of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Bettendorf Health Care. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 N. Main Street, Davenport. Burial will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m.until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
Julia A. Wernecke was born on October 28, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Edward L. and Pauline (Persinger) Wernecke, Sr. She was united in marriage to Michael J. “Ski” Rolewski on August 10, 1965 in Pittsburgh.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and in younger years enjoyed ceramics.
Julia is survived by her husband, Michael, son, Michael R. Rolewski, both of Davenport, grandchildren: Michael L. Rolewski and his children, Elizabeth and Natalie Rolewski, Christine (Allen) Long and their children Christian and Camdyn Long and a stepdaughter, Faith Long, and Kimberly Rolewski and her son Carter Rice; siblings: Alice Hanchette, Davenport, Mary (Ralph) Rizza, Pittsburgh, Dorothy Crossen, Pittsburgh, William ‘Bill” Wernecke, Florida, Paul “Buzzy” Wernecke, Florida, Shirley (James) Price, Pittsburgh, Elizabeth (John) Downs, Florida, 33 nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law, Regis Waldorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Edward (Martha) Wernecke, Jr., George Wernecke, Carl Wernecke, Robert “Bobby” Wernecke, James “Jimmy” Wernecke, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ewald “Les” Hanchette, Jr., Mary “Kay” Waldorf, and Judith Rolewski. May they rest in peace.
