Judith Steward

Judith Rae Steward, 78, of Long Grove, died Monday, April 12, 2021 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme in Davenport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Lady Di’s Park View Inn in Park View. Memorials may be made to the family.

Judy was born November 28, 1942 in Compton, California, the daughter of Raymond and Geraldine (Seifert) Galitz. She married William “Bill” Steward, May 11, 1960 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove. He preceded her in death September 4, 2012.

Judy worked as a secretary for Reiser, Jennings & Co. for many years, retiring just recently. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in horse shows and sporting events, baking, dancing, bingo, and making people happy. She was a loving wife to her husband, Bill.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Peggy Clasen of West Branch, Iowa, Paul (Laura) Steward of Long Grove, and Patrick (Paula) Steward of Eldridge; grandchildren, Destiny (Johnny Grajewski) Gerhardt, Ashley (Jason) Swackhamer, Amber (Dustin Fromyer) Danielsen, Autumn (Nelson Holman) Danielsen, Bailey (Dylan) McDevitt, Mark (Jacquolyn) Steward, Shalyn (Jake) Huber, Kolton Steward, and McKalyn (Josh Cormier) Steward; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Ruth) Galitz of Columbus Junction, and Jim (Leona) Seifert of Donahue; and sister, Patricia Kroeger of Donahue.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Patricia Steward.
