Judith Theresa Jones

Judith Theresa Jones, age 72, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving children.  Judy was born February 26, 1951, in Davenport, Iowa to Jack and Geraldine (née Bormann) Jones. Judy shared 33 loving years with her significant other, Rodney Byars before his passing in June 2011. Judy cherished her children, grandchildren, family, and her dog, Buddy. 

Judy retired from Eagle’s Grocery Store and was also employed with Global Security Services for 10 years. Judy had a lifelong passion for flowers and plants working as a florist at both Eagle and Flowerama for many years making beautiful flower arrangements and tending to her plants and flowerbeds at home. Judy loved to spend time playing card games and slot machines. Judy loved to sing and dance and shared her love of music with others. Judy was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved with all her heart. Judy’s warmth, kindness, humor, and support of her family was constant and unwavering. 

Those left to honor her memory are her children, Todd (Valerie) Jones, Amy (Michael) Archer, and Matthew (Carrie) Jones; grandchildren, Cory, Cody, Kaley, Bailey, Brandon, Brent, Austin, Matthew, Mason, and Johannah; great grandchildren, Mollie, Faye, and Phoebe; sister, Jill Utter; and nephews, Brian, Scott, and Brad. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, significant other, and brother in-law Brian Utter, Sr. 

 Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
