Judith Arnold

A memorial service for Judith A. Arnold, 85, of Des Moines, formerly of Davenport, will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, in Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.

Judith Ann Adrian was born on April 2, 1939 in Davenport, a daughter of Ward and Ruth (Schroeder) Adrian. She was united in marriage to John (Jack) Fitzpatrick of Davenport on May 3, 1958. They were married until his death in 1977. In 1980, she wed Robert “Blaine” Arnold in Davenport. They shared over 42 years of marriage before Blaine’s passing on February 6, 2023.

Judy worked for many years as an office manager at J.C. Penney’s before retiring in 2001.

She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Blue Grass. In 2022, she moved to Senior Star in Davenport, where she made many new friends.

Judy enjoyed puns, music, as well as playing cards with her friends and games with her children and grandchildren. She sewed and particularly enjoyed quilting. She loved making Christmas cookies for her family and friends each year.

Those left to honor her memory are her children: Maureen Fitzpatrick, Kansas, Colleen (Paul) Garcia, Texas, and Michael (Cynthia) Fitzpatrick, Des Moines; Sharna (Rick) Morelli, Michigan, Robin (Carey) Tosello, Oregon, Jenell (Steve) Lamantia, Florida, Rob (Becky) Arnold II, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Carol Fitzpatrick and Dorothy Sapato.

In addition to her husbands, Judy was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Fitzpatrick, her sister, Linda Adrian Kracker, and her parents. May they rest in peace.
