Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joshua L. Hull, 41, of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home with additional visitation taking place Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private family burial will take place in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish an educational fund for his son, Bryson.
Josh died unexpectedly December 18, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Joshua Lee Hull was born on December 6, 1982 in Davenport, a son of Bruce and Chris (Swenson) Hull. He was united in marriage to Michelle M. Lange on April 27, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Josh worked for the former Nichols Aluminum from 2015 until 2021 when he went to work for John Deere Harvester Works. He was a member of UAW Local 865.
Josh was always up for an adventure. He was the daredevil type and was always drawn to the water and sun, whether is was fishing, boating, waterskiing, tubing, or hunting for sand dollars with his son, Bryson. Josh was a member of the West End Canoe Club. Josh and Michelle also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, Mexico, and Honduras. Josh was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to cherish Josh’s memory is his wife, Michelle, daughter, Makhia (Eli Weir) Hull, son, Bryson Hull, all of Davenport, a granddaughter on the way; parents, Bruce and Chris Hull, Davenport; a sister, April (Luis Espinosa) Hull, Davenport; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diane and John Lange, Davenport.; brothers-in-law, Nick Lange, Park View and Mitchell Lange, Dupont, Washington; ; nieces and nephew: Mia, Jovanni, Ava, Paeton, and one on the way; uncles and aunts: Wendy (Susan) Durant, and Tracey (Bill) Durant, April Hull, and Steve and Debbie Marxen and a grandmother-in-law, Betty Lange, Port Byron, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles: Frank Hull and Steve Swenson, and an uncle-in-law, Troy Lange who Josh learned a great deal from, and a cousin, Nathanael Marxen.
