Jose "Joe" Munoz

Jose “Joe” Munoz, 49, of Park View, formerly of Bettendorf, died Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorials Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davenport Boxing Club.

Joe was born November 16, 1972 in Silvis, the son of Jose and Mary (Alvarez) Munoz. He married Angela Yoke, November 16, 2018. Joe worked as a crane operator for SSAB and previously worked at Arconic.

Joe enjoyed training kids at Davenport Boxing Club and spending time with his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Angie; children, Ashley (Francisco) Herrera of Rock Island, Matthew Munoz, and Melanie (JoHannah) Munoz, both of Davenport; an honorary daughter, Kayla Dickson; stepsons, Zachary (Manal) Swarts of Orion, Illinois, and Christopher Swarts of Mount Joy; grandchildren, Izabella Herrera, Libbie and Colton Swarts; siblings, Christina (Craig) Duncan of Colona, Illinois, Rita (Joseph) Fout and Antonio (Kassandra) Munoz, both of Silvis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Natalie.
