Memorial services and Mass of Christian burial for John W. Pippert, 76, of Rock Island will be 10am, Monday, January 24, 2022, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Per his request the rite of cremation was accorded. The family will receive friends from 1-4pm Sunday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Pippert passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island.
John William Pippert was born on December 17, 1945, in Moline, IL, son of John C. and Ethel (McNabney) Pippert. He was united in marriage to Beth LaMar-Finn on July 22, 2001.
Prior to retirement, John worked as Floor Supervisor for Rhythm City Casino for 25 years. He previously worked for International Harvester and Rock Island Railroad. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, turning his hobby into a side business.
John was very active, he enjoyed racquetball, golf, biking and lifting weights regularly with his favorite workout partner and grandson, Rieley. He loved traveling frequently with his wife Beth. He also enjoyed trips to California to visit with his granddaughters, Laura, Alicia, Jennifer and spending time with his grandsons, Alex, Andrew, Austin, James & Rian when they would visit.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Beth; daughters Tiffany (Glen) Davis of Milan, IL, Carrie (Toby) Mote of East Moline, Linda Pippert-Hayes of Dayton, OH; son Bart (Benita) Pippert of Anaheim, CA; grandchildren Rieley Finn of Rock Island, Alex, Andrew, and Austin Rhinevault, James Pippert, Rian Skinner, all of Dayton, Laura Carter, Alicia and Jennifer Pippert, all of Anaheim; sisters Pamela (Douglas) Kulm of Twin Falls, ID, and Suzanne (John) Jones of Sierra Vista, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
