John David Longmeyer

John David Longmeyer passed away at his home on May 13, 2023. John was born January 31, 1962 in Missouri Valley, IA to Harold (Butch) Longmeyer and Elizabeth (Allmon) Neese. John graduated from Missouri Valley High School, then attended the University of Iowa. 

He spent many years in Royal Oak, MI raising his son Tyler Longmeyer then returned to Iowa. John had a passion for Iowa Hawkeye football, fishing, and hunting. John was preceded in death by his father Butch Longmeyer, daughter Amber Longmeyer, and his brother Mark Longmeyer. John is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Allen) Neese, his son Tyler Longmeyer, sister-in-law Valerie Longmeyer, niece, great-nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, 6 54th Street SE, Missouri Valley, IA on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:30am. A luncheon will follow at Crescent Firehall, 102 W Florence Street, Crescent, IA. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to direct memorials to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
