Jodi J. Jones

Jodi Jo Jones, 50 , of Blue Grass, died unexpectedly Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home following multiple health concerns.

Funeral services to celebrate Jodi’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Jodi was born on November 20, 1974 in Davenport, a daughter of LeRoy M. and Joan H. (Schell) Jones. She spent the last eleven years with her significant other, Fernando Garcia. Jodi worked over 30 years for HyVee, working at the Rockingham Road location until they closed their doors and she transferred to the West Locust store. She also was working at Dollar General in Blue Grass and loved that job as well as all the coworkers.

Jodi had a tremendous work ethic, never missing a day of work. She enjoyed people watching, volunteering her time, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, and was known as the “can lady” by those who knew and loved her!

Jodi also loved to go to bingo. However, what she loved and cherished most was spending time with her only son, Maken-z, her grandson, and the mother of her grandson and soon to be granddaughter, Chelsea. As she had once said, they were the light of her life and her greatest blessing.

Those left to honor her memory are her significant other, Fernando Garcia, Blue Grass; her son, MaKen-z Meeks, Davenport; a grandson, Ca-Sai Meeks, and a granddaughter on the way; brothers: Michael (Marilyn) Jones, Davenport, Jeff Schieck, Texas, and Tom (Chris) Jones, Blue Grass; nieces and nephews: Jami Jo Jones, Jesse Jones, Jessica Jones, Nick Jones, Riley Jones, Spencer Jones, Sam Jones, Casey Jones, Kayla Jones, and Baily Jones; several great-nieces and nephews as well as Fernando’s son, Anthony Garcia, Davenport.

Jodi was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ed Jones. May they rest in peace.
