Jimmy Lee Purdy

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jimmy Lee Purdy, 70, of Davenport, will be held at noon on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial with military honors will follow at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Visitation will be from 11am until time of services at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Purdy passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his home following an extended illness.

Jimmy was born November 26, 1953, in Kansas City, MO, a son of Norman and Anne (Shaver) Purdy.  He graduated from Beggs High School, Beggs, OK, and then served in the Army.

He worked for the D.A.V. Thrift Store for twelve years and while there he met his future wife, Kelly Carlton, and they were united in marriage on February 26, 1999, in Davenport.

He loved listening to the Beatles, going fishing, carpentry work, spending time with his family, and was a fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.

In addition to his wife Kelly, survivors include his children Faith Purdy, Jimmy Purdy Jr, Rhiannon Purdy, Marlin (Bridget) Mann, Daniel Mann all of Davenport, Sandra (Matt) Miller of Buffalo, IA, Tommy Mann of Davenport, Corey Mann of Davenport, Becky Mann of Davenport, Nicole Miller of Davenport; forty grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings Leta Wright of Oklahoma, Wayne Purdy of Oklahoma, and Diane Bryant of Missouri, Sara Purdy of Oklahoma; nephew Charlie (Carmen) Purdy.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael Mann, Parents, and siblings Sandy Hill, Joyce Bardwell Donald Purdy.
