Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Jill D. Manson, 87, of Roswell, GA, formerly of Davenport, will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Christ the King Chapel of St. Ambrose University, 518 W. Locust St, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral, downtown Davenport, with a prayer service offered at 4pm to begin visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm, 6701 Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA or the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary home in Dubuque, IA.

Mrs. Manson passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. George Village, Roswell.

The former Jill Hiegel was born and raised in Davenport, and was the daughter of the late Leo and Catherine “Katy” (Murray) Hiegel. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and the Immaculate Conception Academy. On May 5, 1951 she married the love of her life, Donald G. Manson at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

She resided in Miami, FL for 20 years. While in Miami she worked in the Dade County School system. She was an active member of Saint Louis Catholic Church and a parent advisor for the Catholic Youth Organization. In 1990 Mrs. Manson retired from the school system and moved to Atlanta with her husband as Vice President of D.G. Manson & Associates, a food service consulting firm in Atlanta. She was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church and the St. Margaret Circle in Dunwoody, GA.

Surviving Mrs. Manson are her sons, Timothy (Karen) of Margate, FL, Daniel (Pamela) of Abilene, TX, Todd (Cindy) of Huntsville, AL, Thomas (Susan) of Miami, FL, and her daughter Julie (Bob) Hubbard of Roswell, GA; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and sister Sally Brown of California.

Preceding her in death was her husband Donald, daughter Teresa Ann of Davie, FL, brother Jerry Hiegel of Madison, WI, sisters Kay Miclot Arzberger and Jean Marie Fitzsimmons, both of Davenport.
