Jeffrey John Leech was born December 8, 1946 in Moline, the son of Harold A. and Lucille M. (Boss) Leech. Jeff proudly served his country in the US Army. He married Sue Beecher September 14, 1984. They have celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Jeff was an automotive restoration specialist, specializing in restoring Corvettes. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Some of Jeff’s favorite pastimes were playing baseball, golfing, fishing with his kids, especially Dad’s “Kiss the Fishy”. He also enjoyed fishing with his many good friends. He enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. Jeff hosted hog roasts for 20-plus years and card playing with friends.
Jeff had an impact on many of his children’s friends’ lives and those around him. His kid’s friends were always around him. His kids’ friends were always around the house and loved “Papa Jeff”.
He loved his wife more than anything and always said he married the love of his life, and how blessed he was to have found her.
A memorial has been established in Jeff’s memory.
Those left to honor Jeff’s memory include his wife, Sue, Rock Island; children, Rebecca (Ian) Schroeder, Moline, Katherine Leech, Rock Island, Thomas (Carly) Leech, Milan; and Stacie; grandchildren: Theodore and Eleanora Leech; dog, Sadie; a sister and a brother and the Beecher clan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A special thank you to all his friends at the Legion Hall and enjoyed occasional shots of Crown Royal.
