Jean Avey

Jean Louise Avey, 81, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, August, 20, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am, Friday, August 25, 2023 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with visitation being held one hour prior to mass at the church.  Entombment will be in Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Jean was born on January 13, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa, daughter of Herbert and Norma (Schroeder) Sarsgaard.  She was united in marriage to Keith Avey on April 4, 1964. 

Jean enjoyed being active and being outdoors, especially fishing.  She also enjoyed traveling to see her family.  Above all she loved her family.  She was always there for them and cherished every moment spent with them.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Keith, sons Mark Avey and Christopher Avey; grandchildren Zachary and Brianna; and sisters Janice Estes and Joyce (Don) Grover.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
