Jay Nelson

Jay A. Nelson, 72, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A Celebration of Life was held in his honor. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jay was born on September 16, 1952 in Davenport, Iowa, son of Victor and Loal (Epping) Nelson.

Jay retired from Alcoa and went on to opening a resale shop. He loved the trill of buying and selling his treasures. He enjoyed talking to people and the relationships he forged with his friends from the resale shop. He found joy in his motorcycles and working on automobiles. He could often be found playing cards with his family. He was very close to his brothers and would talk to them often. Jay was a great friend to many and was there for anyone who needed help. Above all he loved his family and friends and cherished the time he spent with them.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Roberta Nelson; partner Tracy Littrel; children Chad (Jen) Nelson, Kelly (Jason Paup) Jacobs and Aleecia Braet; grandchildren Wyatt, Ryder, Madeline, Nathan, Mike, Matt and Molly; great granddaughter Lola; brother Dennis Nelson; aunt Barb Dickenson; nieces and nephews Megan, Rick, Nicole, Justin and Kristie; and many other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is brother Russel Nelson.
