Janet was born October 20, 1928 in Ford City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jesse and Carmen (Alvarado) Flores. She married Richard P. Reyes. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Janet worked for Servus Rubber from 1947 – 1997 and worked in housekeeping for Northwest Bank for 20 years.
Janet enjoyed helping at the Pantry on Vine. She was a staple in the neighborhood for over 50 years, helping with various activities, especially for the kids. In her early years, Janet had several dogs. She also enjoyed going to the casino and bus rides to the mall with her sister, Millie.
Although Janet did not have any children of her own, the Ruiz kids were the next best thing. She was especially close to Valerie “Babe” and Valerie’s daughter, Jovi “Mommy”.
Aunt Janet, as she was known to everyone, was with the Ruiz family for every holiday and celebration.
Those left to honor her memory include Vickie (Art) Belman, Nancy Bribriesco, Mary Ellen, Valerie and Debbie Ruiz, Wendy (Steven) Brandt; and numerous nieces and nephews, both big and small.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph, Fred, Joe, Richard “Dick”, Amelia, and Mary; several in-laws; nieces and nephews. Among others were Linda and Denny Reynolds, Dan and Don Ruiz, and a great-niece, Arrica Belman.
The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their care during her final days.
