James "Jim" Griesman

March 19, 1957 — September 3, 2020

Services to celebrate the life of James C. “Jim” Griesman, 63, a resident of Davenport, will be 1pm Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, near the Priest’s Circle.  Due to the current health crisis, masks should be worn and social distancing respected.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Jim passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by his family.

James Carl Griesman was born March 19, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois, a son of Alexander and Jeanette (Hughes) Griesman.  Jim married Rebecca Roggero August 23, 1985 At St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid, Illinois.  They have celebrated 35 years of marriage.

Jim enjoyed listening to the Moody Blues, camping, fishing, and playing his guitar.  Family was important to Jim.  He loved cooking, outdoor activities, traveling to Canada when he and Rebecca were first married.  The best trip ever was their one to Disney World!

Memorials may be made to the family.

Those left to honor Jim’s memory include his wife, Rebecca, Davenport; children:  Ethan Griesman, Ames and Andrea Griesman, Davenport; siblings:  Steve (Sue) Griesman, Rockford and Tom (Marge) Griesman, Burlington, Wisconsin; close friend, Keith Whelpy and mother-in-law, Nancy Roggero, Kincaid, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
