Biography

Funeral Service for James “Jimmer” Masterson, 27, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:30 am Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4801 N. Division Street, Davenport. The family will greet Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street downtown Davenport. There will be additional visitation in the Gathering Space at the church Tuesday from 9:30 am until services. Following Jim’s wishes the rite of cremation will be accorded after services. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Jim died unexpectedly Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Davenport.

James Lee Masterson was born June 29, 1990 in Iowa City, Iowa, a son of David Lee and Jamie Lynne (Reyes) Masterson. He graduated in 2008 from Davenport West High School and attended Kirkwood Community College.

He was employed by and part-owner of McCorrmick Insulation, Davenport, for the last 9-years.

Jimmer, Bimmer, King Ding, Jimbo, Slingblade, Uncle Jimmy had many nicknames; whatever you called him didn’t matter, but you could always call him a friend. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, Indy trips; he loved his cats and canine companions, music, the Cowboy’s, Cardinals. He also loved his family and friends, and cherished his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Jamie (Jerry) Ezard, father, Dave (Maria) Masterson, siblings, Zach (Jenny) Masterson, Joe (Megan) Masterson, Chelsea Masterson (Matt Fitzpatrick), Cassandra (Carter) Ridenour, Thomas Wilson, Jared Masterson; nieces and nephew, Haylee Jones, Harrison Masterson, Lincoln Masterson, Lilly Wilson and Legend Ridenour; grandparents, Elsie (Sonny) McDonnell, Harry Masterson and Isabelle Zambrano; and many special friends.
