James “Jim” Allan Werthmann, 78, of Arizona, formerly of Davenport and Moline, passed away June 29, 2022 in Arizona.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to EveryStep-Children at Home of Iowa
Jim was born on March 25, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, son of Charles and Mary (Martens) Werthmann. He was married to DeEtte Gless. He was later united in marriage to Judith Hougland on November 6, 1981.
Jim graduated from Assumption High School. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. Jim then studied and graduated from St. Ambrose University. Jim was employed by Caterpillar in Mt. Joy for 20 years. He then went into sales and traveled Iowa, finally ending his career at Flicks in Moline. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, and bicycling. He and his wife traveled the United States in their motor home. Jim especially loved his little dog, Woodrow, and the daily walks they had; visiting people along the way.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Judith; daughter Kymbar Lea Werthmann, Davenport; step-daughter Julia Brandt, Andover, Illinois; grandsons Zack (Erica) Brandt and Kaleb (Alana) Hougland; great-grandchildren Amelia Brandt, Deklan Brandt and Mason Hougland; sister Margaret Bruce; cousin Bev Lance; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Joshua Alexander Werthmann; and sister Kathleen Bruce.
