Jacob James Garden, 29, a resident of Eldridge, died Thursday, February 24, 2022
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3rd at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County or The Abbey Addiction Treatment Center.
Jake was born May 21, 1992 in Davenport, the son of Mark and Vickie (Lowder) Garden. Jake worked as a chef for Senior Star Senior Living and The Abbey Addiction Treatment Center.
Jake was a creative soul, who loved cooking, playing the guitar, and writing. He enjoyed exercising, boxing, target shooting, was a voracious reader, and loved nature and animals. Jake was an excellent listener who admired and appreciated the small things in life. He was a wonderful friend, a dreamer, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Jake was extremely loyal and believed in living life live.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Mark and Vickie Garden of Eldridge, brother, Matt Garden of Eldridge; grandmother, Mildred Lowder of Davenport; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
